Vehicle Description This is a 1982 European spec Mercedes-Benz 500 S E C.
This rare Mercedes-Benz was not available in the United States In 1982.
Black exterior and black interior gives this car unbelievable potential just as it sits.
The satisfaction that you will have restoring this car is well worth your effort.
My 500 S E C has a clear New York state certificate of title, and no leans recorded, original owners manual, and an original Diamler- Benz service center guide printed in Germany.
Along with a two CD disc service manual Library, and a Chiltons repair and tuneup guide.
It has been garage kept most of its life, and I have many, many maintenance and work performed receipts, from the owners who have previously cared for this car.
Great care has been taken to start my restoration of this vehicle by choosing only a certified German repair facility to replace the:
battery, left front lower ball joint, timing chain tensioner, 4 guide rails, cam oiler fittings, and valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, shifter linkage bushings, fan shroud, & wiper blades.
I regularly apply leather conditioner to the interior.
It has never been involved in a collision, and has been in the family for many many years.
I drive it periodically.
There some chips in the paint, and minor rust spots however there is no body rot.
You can hear and feel just how solid this car is, when you close the doors trunk and hood.
The original paint has held up well.
This car is a survivor.
It stops and turns smoothly with its power steering and power brakes.
Turn signal, brake lights, headlights, and all window motors are all operational, and all glass is in great shape.
Sunroof opens and closes perfectly, and does not leak, and yes the seatbelt arms still hand you your seatbelt buckle ! Tire's are still good but should be replaced.
Some wood trims, and plastic interior pieces need to be restored.
There is some weeping of only power steering fluid from time to time.
The cabin blower motor has no problem heating the interior.
A shot of refrigerant i believe, is all that is needed to achieve maximum cooling from the air-conditioning.
All other sealed unit fluid levels remain full.
