Customer Service - Mechanical Aptitude Needed

Our client, a leading manufacturer near Commack, NY is currently seeking a technical phone support representative.

Hours for technical customer service representative: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm must be flexible to work overtime if needed.

Requirements for the technical customer service representative:

  • MUST have strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent phone demeanor and professionalism needed
  • Ability to communicate on a technical level with field technicians having varying degrees of knowledge.
  • Must know how to use hand tools
  • Must be able to use a desktop or laptop computer
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and plumbing drawings, schematics a plus
  • Electromechanical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Be able to communicate on a customer level answering questions regarding company equipment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team and individually


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
