Virtual Infrastructure Engineer

This position acts as the senior engineer for the most complex configuration, deployment, support, administration, monitoring and analysis of Infrastructure Services.
This position is responsible for governance, oversight and orchestration of the scoping and delivery of portfolio services.
Manage systems configuration and ensure compliance; implement and enforce security / standards, regulations and best practices governing company policies.
Evaluate, test, deploy and maintain VMWare and UCS software / upgrades.
Manage large scale UCS server farm, licensing and monitoring tools, deployment of new vms and health / safety of environment.
Design, implement and manage disaster recovery sites and create procedures to support the organization in the event of a disaster.
Continuously improve and monitor the plan.
Develop and use effective preventive maintenance program able to meet the operation objective of 99.
9% availability with a focus on 100% uptime design improvements.
Own production issues, working closely with cross functional teams.
Create and maintain system architecture and troubleshooting and computing environment documentation.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Completes all required compliance training.
Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures.
Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field plus 10 years of related work experience OR 15 years of comparable work experience.
Master's degree preferred.
ITIL Foundation training preferred.
10 years in IT systems engineering.
5 years of experience with SAN.
1 year of experience leading and developing others either formally or informally.
Extensive experience in the design, architecture and implementation of storage solutions in a VMWare, UNIX/Linux and Windows environment.
Highly skilled in troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common SAN problems.
Experience in capacity planning and assisting with storage forecasting.
Strong ability to analyze logs, track and resolve software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to both NAS and FibreChannel connectivity issues.
Experience with Fiber Networks, Network-attached storage /direct-attached storage / Internet Small Computer System Interface; as well as multipathing software such as PowerPath, Native MPIO.
Experience with EMC replication solutions RecoverPoint and NAS file replication.
Proven ability to support EMC storage/appliance such VMAX/XtremeIO/VPLEX/Centera/DataDomain.
Experience with Cisco SAN switches (i.
e.
, MDS/Nexus 5K).
Knowledge of VMware including DRS, HA, vMotion and VM creation and maintenance.
Knowledge of Cisco UCS Unified Blade Center.
Experience with disaster recovery technologies and solution development.
Proven ability to collaborate with business partners to understand business goals and develop solutions to support changing needs.
Strong record of successfully completing projects across various computing platforms.
Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and proven ability to follow up and follow through.
Proven ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Proven ability to manage one's time and prioritize work based on risk and critical need.
Demonstrated ability to relate well to others.
