Habilitation Specialist 2 - EOA #2023-299

Under the supervision of the Quality Improvement department MHPES 4, the Habilitation Specialist 2 will function as a Gatekeeper for Life Plans and Staff Action Plans associated with Family Care, Nassau IRAs, and Nassau Day Habilitation programs. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that plans are completed, distributed, and contain all necessary elements to support Medicaid billing requirements. Responsibilities include:
1. Interface with LIDDSOO staff and CCO/MCO Care Managers to ensure Life Plans and Staff Action Plans are distributed timely and support billing 2. Maintain spreadsheets for tracking plan due dates by assigned staff 3. Contact applicable parties to reconcile and correct errors that may impact billing 4. Submit review summaries and report compliance issues to the Medicaid Compliance Liaison, QI department head, and DDSOO Administration 5. Provide coverage with documenting Monthly Service Notes as needed 6. Assist Medicaid Compliance Liaison with billing reviews 7. Review Waiver documents to ensure compliance 8. Provide training to service providers as needed 9. Other duties as assigned by supervisor 10. Travel to IRA and Day Hab locations is required

Salary Range:
From $57984 to $73813 Annually
Minimum Qualification
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT:
o Reachable on the Civil Service List for Habilitation Specialist 2 OR currently permanent in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer per Civil Service Rules and Regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICAITON FOR NON-COMPETATIVE APPOINTMENT:
o In the event that there is not a valid eligible list, candidates must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Habilitation Specialist 1, Habilitation Specialist 1 (Spanish Language), or Habilitation Specialist 1 (Manual Communications). o Only the title(s) listed is qualifying for this appointment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
